About

I’m a current master candidate at Columbia University studying Architecture and Urban Design, expecting to gradu- ate on May 12th, 2018.

My education in Urban Design has provided me with rich academic experience to work on the multi-scalar analysis. I also gained the practical skills by working on real projects. Since December of 2015, I have performed design research at LINK lab, which is a studio of three full-time architects. This opportunity committed me to researching the viability and opportunity for the project including mixed-use developments, modular high-end residences, student housing, etc. It also trained me in business development, such as bringing projects from initial client meetings to permitting, performing due diligence on potential investment opportunities. My other professional experiences include internships at Walt Disney Imagineering and AECOM, which also enhanced my skills in the discipline of architecture to realize new models of the built environment that are healthy, vibrant, and equitable.

Besides, I am an innovator who extracts design solutions from a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure that complex problems are met with relevant and trend setting solutions. In 2012, I led a team to start a 2-year-research to target the current consumption mode in China and published a brochure promoting personal fabrication through Maker Spaces. With this experience, I had the honor of being one of the selected speakers at TEDx Youth in Suzhou in 2014.

These experience helped me to have a better understanding of the complexity of a design project. I especially learned how to treat the city as an agent of resilience and purpose a feasible solution that weaves through public space, social justice, and ecological systems.
