About 

Yu Lu is born and raised in Chengdu, China before moving to Brooklyn to pursue the Bachelor's degree of interior design at Pratt Institute in 2015. She is graduating in May, 2019, and is currently seeking for full-time entry level designer position. Through her academic and professional experience, she explores the balance between aesthetics and functionality.

Project LYM, Brooklyn, NY, US, Founder and Interior Designer

Project LYM is a small freelance designer group formed by You Lu and Minwoo Yang.

Project: Designed a 705 sf (65.5m2) fashion collection retail store located in Auckland, New Zealand. Reinterpreted retail shopping experience as a gallery-going experience.
- Founded Project LYM with the other interior designer.
- Researched site, client, fashion brands, retail store precedents, and galleries.
- Developed design strategies that guided by the concept of “brand gallery.”
- Participated in generating 3D models and design control drawings.
- Communicated with client and contractors.

Project: Designed a 904 sf (84m2) dessert retail store located in the commercial district of Chengdu, China. Focused on the interactive dining experiences and mass media in uence.
- Researched dessert display trend, interactive retail design and mass media advertising.
- Proposed concept and design strategies.
- Generated oor plan and built digital models for the nal design proposal.
- Prepared presentation materials.
