You will find in most European cities, there is a plaza indicating where the centre is. Like Duomo Plaza in Milan and Dam Square in Amsterdam, Plaza is a public place where people walk, relax and communicate with each other. However,  Wuhan, merged by three towns separated by rivers and lakes, has its multiple centres on the riversides of Yangtze River and Han River.

Yangzte First Bridges seem to be the geographic or planar urban centre of Wuhan, yet it does not function as plazas does in Milan or Amsterdam. From more than 60 years since these bridges were built, however, urban designers have been coincidentally not taken human activities into consideration, and most bridges are vehicle exclusive. Bridge could be a plaza that connects the vitality of the two sides, not a barrier.
