Leon Yi-Liang Ko is a Taiwanese architect and an experimentalist of digital design and fabrication. In 2018, Leon was awarded with Taubman College Merit-based Scholarship to pursue a MSc. of Architecture in Digital and Material Technologies (DMT) at the University of Michigan, where he accomplished his capstone project "Precise Imprecision" and was a recipient of 2019 ACADIA Conference Selected Project as well as the Taubman College Alumni Council Award.
As a researcher, he always interrogates the emerging relationships between architecture, engineering, material, and computation in the digital era. His research and practice center on developing manufacturing methodology between advanced technology, material performance, and computational design as they relate to the built environment.
Prior to attending DMT, he possesses BArch and MArch from Tamkang University and acquired 2-year Junior Architect experience at Fieldscape Design (fa+p) in Taiwan. Since 2009 he had worked on multidisciplinary design offices, including construction, landscape, architecture, and academic areas.
