A studio-based course, Landscape Design will guide you through the questions and considerations for designing functional, ecological, and artful landscapes. As students learn about site assessment and design, we will consider natural factors like soils, slopes, and exposure, human factors such as parcel shapes, access, and utilities, and materials and landscape elements. Studio time will consist of guided group and individual projects, punctuated by field trips to local gardens and nurseries. If you have a site in mind, bring along pictures and information, as well as images of other landscapes that intrigue and inspire you. Come learn landscape design from the ground up!
