The Dr. Phillips Center is the centerpiece of a two block redevelopment of downtown Orlando. Designed as a comprehensive home to Orlando's art organizations as well as traveling road shows to Orlando, the Center is intended to garner a new social and cultural spirit to this often forgotten city.
This performing arts facility is comprised of three theaters: a 2,700 seat Broadway-style amplified theater, a 300 seat Community theater, and a 1,700 seat acoustic theater. The facility also includes lobby and patronage space, back-of-house technical spaces, administration space and an extensive education space.
I spent three years working on the design, development and documentation of this project, starting from initial conceptual design through the completion of Construction Drawings. I served as lead coordinator for the exterior envelope as well as lead designer for the lobby element known as the "Wave Wall".
