We are excited to announce our Summer High School Academy. Two five-week courses will be offered within Woodbury’s School of Architecture to students entering the 11th and 12th grades. Priority registration deadline is March 31st, but we will be accepting applications up to the start of the program. The High School Summer Academy begins on June 22nd through July 22nd.

Architecture Lab

Architecture Lab is a summer program for college credit that introduces students to Woodbury University’s architecture and interior design programs. Taught by our design faculty, students are exposed to all aspects of the creative process, from drawing, making 3D printing and laser cutting to digital fabrication and portfolio development.

Last year, for five weeks, students enrolled in the High School Design Lab designed and constructed a speculative pavilion to sit along the LA River at Bette Davis Park in Burbank. Once completed, the students explored a stop motion animation depicting how the user would interact with the pavilion.

The Augmented City

In The Augmented city, students will engage the city of Los Angeles through the technology of Augmented Reality (AR). Using several free and openly available software platforms, students will develop a series of animated objects and experiences that inhabit the city through the screen of their mobile devices. Students will learn basic programming, 3d modeling, and fundamental principles of the human-computer interaction Smartphone Required.
