Public space with pavilion for Roseville city

Roseville’s Pavilion is a new central venue of downtown Roseville which provides a unique experience for the locals and gives possibilities to conduct exhibitions and events. It is a public space where visitors can also relax and enjoy the ambience. The elements of the square create the special feeling and enrich the environment together.

The design concept is the interaction of the pavements, the vegetation, the organic benches, presence of the water and the pavilion which generates an innovative, futuristic unit.

The pavilion is located in the center of the organically designed square. There are two ways to get to the pavilion: following the Utica Road from the Evangel Church or from the art studio which is located next to the crossroads.

Approaching from the Art Studio the visitors are lead to the pavilion by the pavement and the organic concrete benches. The change in the pavement materials separate the space and the flat fountain enriches the square simultaneously which serves as a spectacle and a cooling element during the summer. The presence of plants and the water provides a pleasant feeling and improve the general wellbeing of the visitors.

The shell of the pavilion is made of a holey concrete structure which functions as a shade and space divider. It embraces the building dynamically like abstract petals and determines the area of the pavilion.

The pavilion is an open structure and it has two main entrances and can be walked around. While walking at one side the visitors can view the seasonal art exhibitions and can get information about other local events. At the other side there is a catering service unit where they can get coffee, ice cream, snacks, drinks, foods according to the nature of the current event. The visitors of the pavilion can purchase foods and drinks in the shop to-go even there is no ongoing event.

With its attractive appearance the place gives a new creative impulse to the location and makes the urban texture more colorful, more unique.
