This artwork was exhibited as part of the "Motion Sensitive" show at Corridor Gallery in Brooklyn, NY:
A map is a visual representation of an area—a symbolic depiction highlighting relationships between elements of that space such as objects, regions, and themes.
Although most commonly used to depict geography, maps may represent any space, real or imagined, without regard to context or scale; e.g. brain mapping, DNA mapping, and extraterrestrial mapping.
In this project, two versions of my hand-sketched maps of Brooklyn, one axonometric and the other planar, are transformed into playful and whimsical visual narratives for how the borough is occupied, navigated and traversed.
