Originally from São Paulo in Brazil, Vanessa Lemes is based in London having studied Architecture at Westminster followed by a Diploma and Masters in Sustainability at the University of East London. Registered as an Architect (ARB/RIBA), Vanessa has worked with Metropolis Architectural Studio acquiring a wealth of residential and public projects experience and at Bickerdike Allen Partners where she has developed in depth on-site construction knowledge.
Her work reflects a wide range of residential projects in the UK notably appointed as the Project Architect of a new-build scheme for 86 mixed tenure units with a community centre, the Technical Skills College in Barking for 400 students with £12 million value as well as several smaller high end residential projects.
Following on from research undertaken for her Masters in Sustainability of Architecture at UEL, Vanessa contributed to the sustainability research project led by Susannah Hagan titled “Futureproofing the City” using a neighbourhood São Paulo as an example.
Vanessa also contributed to Fabric Foamwork by Alan Chandler and Remi Pedreschi which won the RIBA President’s Award for Research in 2008.
