After four years of learning about architecture, practicing design, interning with architectural offices, and being a member of the AIAS, I have acquired a variety of professional skills, such as creating client presentations, working independently and in a team, participating in office-wide design charrettes, conducting a product research, pitching a design idea to clients, managing material library, taking photographs of completed projects, etc.
I have experience interning with different types of architectural offices, which contributed to my learning experience. Summer internship with Granum a/i was my first experience working in an architectural office, whose work mostly consists of high-end interiors and corporate headquarters. My second internship was with the Philadelphia-based small design-build firm, Evolve Build, whose work primarily focuses on small residential projects. Finally, I was awarded a two-week internship with SIM Architect in San Francisco. Their work includes educational and sacred architecture.
In addition to my professional experience, I have been involved with the AIAS since my freshman year and served as a secretary of the Temple University Chapter. I am proficient in Rhinoceros, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. I have a good knowledge of AutoCad and SketchUp. I have used Revit, Grasshopper and ArcMap before and with some practice I can guarantee to become proficient in a short period of time.
In addition to my technical skills, I am a dedicated and responsible person, who can take on a role of a leader and a team member. I am not afraid of asking questions but I also enjoy finding answers on my own. I am a fast learner and pay great attention to details. Collaborative work environment is something I aspire to in the design office as I believe it contributes the overall success of a firm and its people.
P.S. Without a doubt, a meticulous designer is a valuable asset in any architectural office, but having a strong team goes beyond talent of individuals. Thus I would like to provide you with an informal, compact “about me” paragraph; Born and raised in Siberia, I can’t stand cold weather. My favorite outdoor activity is hiking trails with scenic views. My favorite indoor activity is brewing coffee. My main weakness is dogs and because of that I am a professional dog sitter/walker. My favorite movie is “Fantastic Mister Fox” by Wes Anderson
