The recently merged Thomson Reuters company needed to significantly increase space in an
existing site located in a Culver City office building. The project integrates the client's strong new
corporate identity, demonstrating the range and diversity of intelligent information and provides
users an open collaborative workspace. A "gallery" space was conceived to illustrate the client’s
varied business units—ranging from web-based knowledge sites to television and editorial news,
including the extraordinary photographic work by Reuters photographers. Planning showed that
space utilization and daylighting could be significantly improved by relocating existing meeting
and training spaces to a less deep part of the building footprint. The planning solution provides a
flexible and open workspace that can adapt to the client's future needs through the use of
modular workstations. Materials and furniture were selected for their sustainable, long life-cycle
attributes. Materials included carbonized bamboo, engineered stone, Greenguard certified
fabrics and carpet.
Unique Characteristics and Resolution:
           - Under floor air allowed a larger floor to ceiling height for maximum natural light.
           - Gallery space showcases client’s various business units and Reuters photographers.
           - Abundant flexible meeting spaces with private offices located near core, allowed for
             maximum natural light and increased face to face interaction.increased
