Desert

Chihuahua is the largest state of Mexico and is a neighbor of Texas, which is in turn, the largest state in the USA. The local landscape is that of a desert, in a region so vast that the city of Chihuahua is closer to another country that it’s to other Mexican states. This geography helps shape a city in a mixture of cultures, climate realities and architectural languages.

Porosity

Prisma is a building that sits on the head of the block and recognizes its role as organizer of the corner and its potential to connect with the street, a pedestrian walkway at the center of the complex and surrounding buildings on construction. Open lobbies on ground and upper floor protect the user from the intense sun of the region while generating permeability and integration with the context. An area of terraces for restaurants on the upper level contains 6 gates that open and extend over the sidewalk, where they use shade and ventilation as a strategy for comfort.

Pixels

In the office volume, a curtain-wall façade emphasizes the corner with a playful pixelated arrangement of colors inspired by a desert sunrise. East and south elevations are predominantly solid, with a set of windows that generate different spatial conditions for each private unit.
