Minneapolis, MN
Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at the School of Architecture, Mary Guzowski, has been selected by the University of Minnesota's Institute on the Environment (IonE) for one of 13 awards as part of its Mini Grant program.
Mini Grants from IonE help encourage collaboration among faculty, staff and students across University of Minnesota disciplines, units and campuses along environmental and sustainable themes.
The $3,000 Mini Grant award will go toward Guzowski's efforts to organize virtual meetings and a spring leadership event for students interested in advancing sustainability on University of Minnesota system campuses.
Guzowski's team is comprised of students engaged in system-wide sustainability, co-chairs from the Student Engagement Work Group and UMN System-wide Sustainability Committee, Linda Kingery from the Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships, and Troy Goodnough from the University of Minnesota Morris.
The IonE Mini Grant also includes space for meetings, workshops and conferences, as well as some administrative support for a year.
Guzowski is the author of Towards Zero Energy Architecture: New Solar Design and Daylighting for Sustainable Design. She also helps lead the Salovich Zero+ Campus Project at the University.
