In a career spanning high-rise, modular prefab, adaptive reuse and industrial design, Tyler has worked under design leads such as Todd Schliemann at Ennead Architects, Coren Sharples at SHoP Architects, Jared Levy at Connect Homes and Rick Cortez at RAC Design Build.

Leveraging intelligence from each discipline, Tyler brings exceptional care and consideration to each project. He is a multi-faceted designer with a well-rounded combination of skills and proficiencies, from Project Management and client interaction to Revit, Inventor, Vault, Rhino, and more.  He also has a particular penchant for firm processes and standards, having helped develop BIM Guidelines for SHoP Architects, Connect Homes, RAC Design Build and as a BIM Consultant with AVAIL Content Management.

Tyler graduated from UT Austin with a Bachelors in Architecture in 2013, before moving first to NYC, and then to Los Angeles. He is currently working on several small projects with personal clients.

Includes ground-up Single Family Residential and Landscape architecture projects in Los Angeles, as well as single family remodels and FF&E Design in New York City.

Design of lighting, seating, casegoods and custom architectural details for
high-end retail and hospitality clients. Collaborated with architects to produce
full Interior Design packages for projects across the East Coast. 3D Models and renderings in Rhino + VRAY..

Feb 2016 - current

RAC Design Build, Los Angeles, CA, US, Job Captain

Managed on-time completion of DD drawing sets for adaptive reuse projects.

Developed massing and site design solutions to unite + clarify a mixed-use
terraced project site in Silverlake (2525 Hyperion Ave.) Led a team of 4 in
assessing the relationship between program, sight lines, and articulation of
ground-up VS adaptively reused buildings.

Developed project narratives, rendering packages, massing and zoning analyses, and mood boards to communicate design intent / materiality to client.

Developed unique formulas & spreadsheets to address multiple client concerns at once: optimum ratio of retail VS commercial use + parking capacity + FAR.

Reorganized + reformatted the RAC Library using the AVAIL Desktop Browser:
unification of all standards & development of maintenance plan.

Laid off with the rest of staff due to firm closure, December 2020.

Connect Homes, Los Angeles, CA, US, Designer

Connect Homes provides a modular, pre-fab, heavy steel construction solution - delivering homes to the site 90% complete from their factory in San Bernadino, CA.

- Managed the design, shop drawings and delivery of the first Connect 1 -
single-module prefab home - to a temporary fire relief village in Santa Rosa.

- Worked with civil engineers and Habitat For Humanity to modify the
proprietary Connect Homes system for non-permanent installation.

- Developed site-design strategies & landscaping plans to help locate dozens of
modular homes across California.

- Execution of 30+ State & Local Permit sets, Bid Sets, Construction Documents, Shop Drawings & photorealistic renderings in Autodesk Revit.

- Development of Revit Standards, libraries and guidebooks to facilitate rapid
system updates across the entire Connect Homes product line.

Oct 2017 - Feb 2019

SHoP Architects, New York, NY, US, Designer

Concept, SD and DD-Level development of a high-rise Luxury Condo project on
NYC's Upper East Side. Zoning+massing studies, facade concepts, floor planning,
programming, client coordination and Interiors (Revit).

Development of SHoP Arc Residential Design Guidebook: internal documentation
included Revit models with pre-loaded ADA clearances.

Fabrication Lab Design - Development of large, complex, mixed media
architectural models and shipping crates for international delivery and display.

Oct 2013 - Feb 2015

Ennead Architects, New York, NY, US, Residency Intern

Full-time 6-month internship facilitated through The University of Texas at Austin’s Professional Residency Program. I primarily helped develop a medical and academic high-rise on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, from concept to 50% SD. Team led by Todd Schliemann, lead designer on the Standard High Line Hotel.
