About

Troy Varner is an architectural designer and digital artist. Since early in his childhood, he found himself exploring mankind's interaction with nature through Boyscouts, as well as our connection with creativity through art and music classes. This upbringing brought about his passion for the graphic representation of architecture, and its ability to be an embodiment of a clients personality. Throughout his studies in Architecture at Marywood University, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he found himself questioning the means and methods of his field, pushing the boundaries of his designs through the mediums of collage. sculpture, and digital graphics.

After graduating with his Bachelors of Architecture, he was offered a job in a architecture/branding firm. As a part of this team, he collaborated on a master plan for the city of Scranton, Pennsylvania. The master plan was created to inspire and rally funding for the future of the rust belt city. Known for being a pivotal city in locomotives and coal during the industrial revolution, Scranton has the infrastructure and prime location to be revitalized, in particularly, the newly gentrified area South Scranton. They branded this urban zone "The Iron District", referencing the iron furnaces, which are still there today. The Iron District master plan was just the beginning to unraveling the areas potential.

After six years in Scranton, Troy decided to make the leap to Philadelphia, PA, a place he loved for the extensive music scene and mural arts culture. Within this unique culture, he began experimenting with digital collage, representing his experiences abroad and ethereal geometries that he envisioned. While keeping his personal work in motion, he also currently works at an architecture firm with a focus in healthcare design and BIM management. This experience prepares him with practical skills of the architecture trade, as well as enough hours to begin taking the Architecture Registration Exams, in hopes to become a licensed architect.
