Trachtenberg Architects, has been helping to create the built environment in Berkeley and environs for more than two decades.  While their residential projects tend not to be so visible their public projects are a catalog of well known Bay Area institutions including the Berkeley Bowl (east), The La Farine Building on Solano, Cody's Books on Fourth Street, Backroads, the Read Building, Headquarters for the ACLU and the Trust for Public Land, MIG Headquarters, Addis-Creson Design, Peet's Coffee Headquarters, Saul's Deli and Acme Bread Company among others. In recent years Trachtenberg Architects has been engaged in designed large scale mixed use buildings.
