Korte Construction approached Michael Baker International to provide a design solution that would change the client provided design from a two story building to a single story building. The goal of this change was to eliminate the construction costs of providing an elevator and stairs, create additional usable square footage for the client, and play to their strengths with pre-cast concrete panel construction. I was in charge of the re-design of the facility in collaboration with our in-house engineering staff and took the design from the Request For Propsal all the way to Construction Administration under the supervision of Mark Shannon.
