William W. Niles JHS 118 School Library

The preexisting undersized library was part of the original school built in 1939 and was in poor condition. The Principal requested a library for the “21st century” that would create a learning environment for students with books as well as laptop computers. The new library was enlarged by 50% with a separate librarian work area, 20 person conference space, built-in shelving and furniture and has a raised reading room with movable screens for small groups. With all new finishes such as an acoustical ceiling, lighting, flooring and window treatment the new library is transformed into a place of modern learning.
