About 

With over 19 years of experience encompassing architecture, construction, architecture; leading the execution of variety of project types that vary in scale and complexity from schematics through construction administration.

Throughout my career, I have demonstrated the organizational skills and enthusiasm to lead project teams, mentor junior staff, advise senior leadership, and the discipline to work independently.  In addition to my professional experience, I am an accomplished artist and served as volunteer the public in need.

Employment 

North Shore/LIJ Health System, Long Island, NY, PROJECT ARCHITECT

Oversee the planning, design and implementation of multiple projects for the Health System in Manhattan and Staten Island with a primary focus on Lenox Hill Hospital, Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, and Staten Island University Hospital North & South Campuses.

Generate project program, scope, design schedule and budget. Develop planning strategy and schematic layouts for design concept. Solicit, negotiate and prepare contracts for architectural/engineering services. Regulate and manage the communication and project development with the design team, agencies and stakeholders. Supervise and review progress of consulting architects, engineers and related consultants in assuring that design documents are prepared in accordance with Health System Standards, project goals and objectives, and regulatory requirements. Monitor construction of project insuring construction is in accordance with departmental design standards, approved project plans and specifications.

NYU Langone Medical Center, New York, NY, US, Design Manager

Representing the Department of Real Estate Development & Facilities in shepherding the project team in the planning, design and construction of projects for corporate office, medical office and outpatient facility projects.

Lead user group meetings and work sessions throughout the document development phases; generate decanting and phasing strategies. Oversee the implementation the System’s design standards through all project phases. Generate and review project budgets and schedule. Issue RFP’s for A/E services and construction bids; level and recommend award. Oversee construction for compliance with construction documents, specifications and System standards. Review and process requisitions and invoices for payment. Negotiate and process change orders and A/E additional services.

Perkins Eastman, New York, NY, US, Associate/Project Manger

Reported directly to the Principal-in-Charge for projects at Duke University Medical Center. Mentored & directed project team through Schematic Design, Design Development & Construction Documents; coordinated MEP systems. Generated complex Life Safety strategies. Responsible for Construction Administration; reviewed & commented on the validity of change orders & requisitions. Traveled regularly to the site to inspect construction, attend meetings with the owner, users, building officials & construction team.

Projects Include:
- A new 80,000SF, 11-story hi-rise hospital office addition consisting of departmental offices, conference areas and surgical staff support areas.

- A 65,000SF full-gut surgical suite renovation within the existing hospital consisting of 11 new operating rooms, pre and post-operative area, pharmacy, pathology lab and family waiting area.

- A new 525,000SF, 9-story hospital addition, consisting of 160 single patient beds, of which 96 are intensive care beds, 16 operating rooms with pre and post operative areas, diagnostics, patient and public amenities.

Designed, planned and generated Schematic, Design Development and Construction Documents. Researched and designed technical details. Coordinated MEP and other consultant based work. Collaborated with designers in the selection of finishes and materials.

Projects Include:
- A new 10,000SF, 6-story, multi-family building consisting of five two-bedroom, two-bathroom full floor apartments & one duplex apartment.

- A new A 1-story, 11,000SF addition and 5,000SF renovation for existing Radiation Oncology department consisting of diagnostic, radiation and chemotherapy treatment areas and Tomo Therapy vault.

- A 9,500SF full-gut interior office fit-out consisting of enclosed offices, open plan work area and service spaces.

Designed and produced Schematic, Design Development and Construction Documents for retail, commercial and residential projects within strict budget and time constraints. Analyzed and created site planning studies. Performed Building Code and Zoning analysis. Interfaced with building officials. Presented projects in a public forum before Zoning, Planning and Architectural Review boards.

Projects Include:
- A new 3,000SF, 2-story medical office building in Nyack, New York.

- Design and construction of Lexus, Lincoln/Mercury, Infiniti, Hyundai & Toyota sales and service centers in Westchester, Manhattan, and Brooklyn.

- A new 1,500SF, 1-story pool house in Westchester, New York, consisting of changing areas, kitchen/bar, living room and pool.
