C-Lamp was designed for the landmarked building Il Circolo Dei Lettori which required some very specific constraints of minimizing the number of perforations in the ceiling and to reduce the stress and tension between the ceiling and connection (to reduce the weight of the lamp), while lighting up a 10x8 meters room as one unique piece.
This was achieved as a single 4x5m lamp, conceived as an adaptive texture derived from the logo of the Circolo dei Lettori. While retaining economic affordability, it is additionally an energy saving lamp, with 20 50 watt osram, 2800 Kelvin lamps. Made from superlight MDF board with a thickness of 3.5 cm, the material permits a sufficient rigidity yet reduces the overall weight of the piece. This also allows us to produce several CNC made parts which are easy to transport. To complete the look, the C-Lamp it was paint with a traditional technique of the golden leaf typically used in the baroque times.
