About

Dear Sir, Madam

I am hereby applying as an intern architect. Currently State Graduate Architect and being employed in an architecture company in France, I’m looking for a new working experience. That’s why I present my candidacy for a place in your agency. I wish to carry out an internship for a training period of 6 months at least.

During my previous internships, I have discovered different architectural work themes. I started my Professional working experience with a firm specialized in drugstore design in Alsace, then I was in Paris to learn and observe the ways of an architectural firm. From the contest organized to choose one project, to the project management, I have witnessed the various steps of an architect’s job, from designing a building to getting in touch with the various people involved. I work today in a flourishing agency in Eastern France, where I put those skills into practice.

My educational training within the Architecture School of Nancy in France allowed me to take part in an Erasmus program. Practicing the German language, I decided to join the University of Stuttgart to discover a new architectural approach. This experience enabled me to deepen my knowledge of German, and also to evolve in a different country and therefore to confront myself with a whole new architectural practice.

Today I focus myself on a new project, traveling to the United States. A recent trip, from New York to the North-East Coast made me feel very enthusiastic about your country. I saw the architectural wealth of the cosmopolitan US Eastern cities, and it would be a great opportunity to expand my professional experience in this environment.

I am writing to explore the possibility of participating in a training program in your company.  As a French student, I am required by my University to complete a practical training in a company abroad. My training must start in May 2014 and last at least 6 months.

In regards to my legal eligibility to train with your organization, I would be participating in the J-1 Visa Internship USA program, sponsored by the Council on International Educational Exchange [CIEE]. (www.ciee.org)

As my sponsor, CIEE is authorized by the U.S. government to issue the necessary documentation for me to obtain a J-1 visa, which allows me to train legally in the U.S for up to 12 months.  I will also arrive with my sponsor provided, full coverage health insurance. Please see the following link for the details of this private health insurance:  http://www.ciee.org/insurance/

J-1 Visa participants are exempt from the following taxes :

  • Social Security Taxes (FICA)
  • Federal Unemployment Taxes (FUTA)
  •

Please will find my CV and my Portfolio attached to this letter.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me for any others informations or questions.

Best regards, sincerely yours

NOLL Thiébaud
