The Lighting Practice is excited to share that our President, Helen K. Diemer, FIALD, LEED AP, was nominated and has been selected as a finalist for SmartCEO’s Philadelphia Circle of Excellence Awards in the category of Minority Owned Businesses.

The Circle of Excellence Awards program recognizes the region’s most accomplished CEOs for business excellence in distinct categories (Commercial Real Estate/Building Services, Leisure/Hospitality, Minority-Owned, Nonprofit, Professional Services, Technology). Companies are nominated from all size and industry categories, public or private. Each year, an independent committee of local business leaders selects the winners based on their industry impact and market leadership. – SmartCEO Magazine Website

Two years ago Helen was recognized as a Brava! Awards winner for her leadership and contributions to TLP, the lighting and A/E/C industry and our local community. Helen has continued and expanded upon these initiatives. As the leader of a Women-Owned Business, Helen is extremely aware of the obstacles individuals can encounter on their path to personal success. As President Helen has made education and professional development a priority. TLP monetarily supports employee involvement in organizations that educate and provide networking opportunities in the lighting and A/E/C industry as well as our local community. As a firm we have also made a commitment to support the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) Education Trust through an annual contribution. The IALD Trust’s mission is to support and encourage undergraduate and graduate education in architectural lighting design. TLP also provides paid internships to undergraduate designers in the A/E/C Industry with the intention to inspire future lighting designers as well as encourage future collaboration between lighting designers, architects, engineers, and interior designers.

This Thursday, November 5, the winners in each of the six categories will be announced during the Philadelphia Circle of Excellence Awards ceremony. We are proud and honored to have Helen as our President and are lucky to have the opportunity to learn from her on a daily basis.
