First Baptist Dallas was founded in1868 and has continued to be a strong presence in downtown Dallas. With a growing congregation and aging facilities, First Baptist decided to move forward with a new campus in 2009. The goal was to create a community gathering place that encompassed all facets of the congregation’s needs. The new campus, designed by The Beck Group, includes a worship center, an educational facility with recreational gym, theaters for student ministry and children's classrooms as well as a connection to their existing Criswell education center.
The Lighting Practice joined the design team in 2010 and has been responsible for designing the interior and exterior lighting for the new First Baptist Dallas Campus. Within the main sanctuary, the theatrical and house lighting has been designed by Acoustic Dimensions, but TLP provided lighting design for the 3D relief stained glass window hanging over the indoor baptistery, creating a beautiful glowing focal point (featured in the below video).
