About

As a son of a carpenter and business man, hard work is an essential core value which drove the development of my childhood.  When I moved to Philadelphia I became engulfed by the architectural design process and its possibilities.  While at Philadelphia University I branched my interests to urban design, historic preservation, artistic expression, sustainability and the result of their collaboration.  My thesis design focused on a philosophy of restorative design which  provided a new ritual to the mourning process that doubled as an ecological rehabilitation to the Venetian lagoon.  As a youthful designer I create projects which reinterprets overused, underachieving schemes as culturally respectful designs to better serve the needs of the user.   Currently I strive to further educate myself both as an architect and an artist who understands how my decisions effect both the localized problem and the related global issues inherent to the problem.

Employment

Phillips and Associates Architects, LLC, Ambler, PA, US, Intern Architect

I facilitated the firm in all aspects of the design process. I worked on both residential and commercial projects in the greater Philadelphia and Bermuda alike. This job has strengthened my understanding of the functions and process of an architectural office setting.

Build-All Construction, Bedminster, NJ, US, Carpenter

The company was owned by my father and as a result the position was very flexible. Perfection was the only accepted result and learning was my most important task. My responsibilities ranged from coordinating the needs of the site to apprenticing through all aspects of the construction process.

Education

Philadelphia University, East Falls, PA, US, BArch, Architecture

While I did not work to get a minor I applied myself to robust set of disciplines. Beyond my 11 design classes I applied my studies to art, historic preservation, sustainability, and the local ecology. On top of all of my creative studies I worked rigorously on my core classes which have made me the well rounded individual who I am today.

Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS), Copenhagen, DK, BArch, Architecture

While the classroom only consisted a small proportion of my experience abroad, I focused my studies to hand drawing, sustainability, and urban design. My adventures outside of the classroom benefited from Denmark's progressive socialized state. I got to study and learn from some of the best parks, bike highways, public places, a sustainable buildings that Denmark had to offer.
