Transformation of historic warehouses of XIX century into the cultural center

Development and support of the project from concept to implementation.

PROJECT HISTORY

In 2017, old warehouses were dismantled in Nizhny Novgorod,
and after the disassembling of the walls, the historical frame of
the building of the All-Russian Exhibitions of 1882 and 1896
was discovered.
By the 800th anniversary of the city, the authorities of the
region want to realize a cultural center within the existing
structures of the pavilions.

The composition of the old frame, spectacularly
illuminated in the evening and the new volumes inside of
it become signs of useful waste on Strelka.
Laconic architectural solutions realize the object in the
shortest possible time with moderate costs.
The inner pavilions follow the shape of the 19th century
packages. The facades of the internal volumes are
covered with polished steel, which turns into a mirror
surface.
Thanks to this historical metal structure, the
surface of the mirrored volumes is spectacular and the
glass vestibule in the center allows you to view the
structures from the inside.
