Acting for the city of Barranquilla, the project emanated as a counterproposal to several social housing projects envisioned by the city, planning on erasing local neighborhoods by constructing contemporary mid-rise building blocks. Starting with an analysis of existing settlements in the city, my response proposed a series of single houses and public spaces for Barranquillans, maintaining the existing footprints of the neighborhood, while using local materials and modular methods of construction as an architectural approach
