Team A developed a new model for condominiums in Chicago. With a market saturated in generic designs and the main selling feature “granite countertops…” our proposal offers real outdoor space adequate for gardening and relief from the urban density. The outdoor space is provided above the rear parking, deep cutouts in back of building and on the rooftop. With a thickened prefabricated concrete structure our intention is to increase soil depth while maintaining a marketable list price.

To differentiate the units on the interior and provide a more diverse experience the floor plates are shifted within each unit to create compressed zones (sleeping areas) and tall living spaces. On the exterior this shifting is exposed on the left side and concealed on the right with a central bay vertically vegetated that connects the ground to the roof.
