Quality Builders is a subcontractor for Multi-County Community Service Agency in Meridian, MS. Quality Builders were issued contracts to weather-seal and insulate low income houses in order to make them more energy efficient. While working for Quality Builders I worked on all aspects of creating a building envelope including: caulking doors and windows, installing weather strips on doors, insulating and sealing underneath homes, insulating and sealing attics, and sealing HVAC closets. In addition, I also addressed health and safety issues such as installing smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors, and flags for junction boxes in attic. Our goal for every home was to drop the amount of outdoor air penetration to a pre-defined level which we checked at the completion of every home resulting in a dramatic reduction of energy consumption.

While working for Smith Well Drilling, I took on all duties required for drilling and installing new water wells as well as repairing dysfunctional water wells. My duties for drilling and installing new wells included: digging trenches and small retaining ponds, continually cleaning trenches, adding new pipes to the drill rig, loading and unloading pipes, mixing and pouring concrete, plumbing repair, and installing new tanks, pressure switches, and pumps. While repairing old wells, I was responsible for pulling the old pipes, checking electrical equipment, and installing new pumps and tanks.
