CONCEPT
It is a project challenging the potential aesthetic of Matcha Tea Culture by introducing new technology, the digital fabrication. Many utensils are fabricated using various techniques, 3D print for molding and prototyping, Ceramic print, and Laser cut. Meanwhile, the tea house is constructed with standard timber 1 by 2 and 2 by 2 connected with bolt joints for demountable structure. This has an advantage to be store easily and could be built in various location in Thailand to encourage Matcha tea culture. The structure is covered with laser-cut and partially digitally knit screen with porous concrete block pattern. It is a banal and unappreciated pattern put together to discover its aesthetics, while allowing for changing combination of pattern depends on different setting.
