My name is Yu Sun and I prefer people to call me Sun. I am an architecture graduate student who come from China.

I have 6 months internship experience and 6 months work experience in China.I spent the majority time on construction document drawings during both internship and work time because I thought building codes and carefully consideration on the relevant engineering fields, such as structures thermal and ventilation systems, are as important as the design concept, especially in the real work.

I was the Teaching Assistant for Professional Practice course and the Environmental Control System course (Green Building Strategies) in my graduate school. Therefore, I have more chance to improve my language skill so that it turns easy for me to communicate with people more smoothly.

There are two main discipline in my design philosophy, design theme and function aesthetic.

In my opinion, design theme is the sole of an architecture. Every design element, including structure, equipment, materials, and even day lighting, is the measurement to illustrate the theme that architects want to demonstrate. Function aesthetic is the other significant design philosophy for me. Before design process, my habit is to organize the function of each program. Then, I will have a clear clue to separate different functions and take advantage of circulation space or community space to connect each functions. The advantages of this include the comfortable circulation distribution and guarantee the occupants feeling convenient when they stay in the building.
