STUDIO TERPELUK is a San Francisco-based architecture and design firm working in a wide range of project types and scale, including residential, commercial, cultural, and LEED Platinum certified. The firm was founded by architect Brett Terpeluk in 2007 after working in both design and management roles for 10 years with Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Genoa, Italy and San Francisco.
For us, every project requires a unique and fresh design approach with a foundation built upon the project’s contextual specificities given its history, program, and site. Building upon this foundation, we aim to fuse craft and technology with a modernist expression of materials, while taking into consideration the scale, budget, and sustainability of each project. Our long-standing professional relationships with an extraordinary group of engineers, contractors, craftspeople, and vendors allow us to seamlessly execute these innovative and functional designs.
Brett is actively involved in non-profit organizations and has lectured and taught at numerous institutions, including California College of the Arts and UC Berkeley as a Friedman professor. His work has been published extensively, and his writings have appeared in such architectural journals as Casabella and Parametro. Fluent in Italian, Brett maintains offices in both San Francisco and Genoa. He is a LEED AP and was recently published in California Home and Design as one of the “10 To Watch” emergent California designers.
