Building on the shallow, slender form of the existing plan the new design opens and connects the previously isolated rooms enabling light and space to be shared among large and small spaces. An abandoned staircase is resurrected to create private access to the Master Suite, a new entry stair is made more generous to facilitate a more formal and dramatic framing of a new entry foyer.
Natural wood battens and textured plaster add scale and depth to the space. In-direct lighting balanced to the temperature of daylight will create a space of calm luminosity
