Proposed design for a private law firm in the Pacific Northwest.
The client proclaimed the importance of agriculture. The office is located in a town which is known for producing 85% of the United States hops. The expressed structural columns were derived from the method used to grow hops (a "Y" shaped column with rope stretching to the ground).
The client required a modest program and a modest budget. Practical and efficient layouts combine with flexible work space and local materials create a building that relates to its context and is cost effective.
