The central block divides into two halves and creates the two residents by splitting and pulling the corners apart from each other. Twins, related but not identical, are formed through this division, and are manipulated based on their placement on the site: their wall faces twist and turn away from neighbors or towards the sunset. A rift broken through the center of the original mass serves as a light well, bathing the co-mingled courtyard between the two units. The stairs spiral up around the void created between the stretched floor plates and travel in between the stretched skin of the exterior and the collapsed interior walls. Each unit has access to the co-mingled terrace on the third floor, which is formed by a laceration cut into the block and pulled back to create a shared space.
