I have experience of working in larger teams and in a more independent capacity. I also have the ability to work across a wide range of Computer Programs including Revit, Autocad, Rhino, SketchUp, The full Adobe Creative Suite, Vectorworks and Allplan. I have good organisational and time management skills and excellent Graphic and Design Skills.
I currently seek suitable employment, so please feel free to contact me.
Soluri Architecture, New York, NY, US, Junior Architect
I am a Junior Architect at Soluri Architecture working directly under the principal Architect, Andre Soluri. I assisted Andre on the design of several apartment alterations, from small, low budget projects to a multi-million dollar renovation in the meatpacking District.
I also worked on the design for the head office, for the tech start-up, cosmetics business Birchbox, from Schematic Design through to Completion.
I was also involved in the design of a small condo building in Harlem which has currently been submitted for approval.
University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin, IE, Project Researcher and Co-Ordiantor
Researched, collated and disseminated information relating to an international student competition entitled the City as Archive, under the direction of Peter Cody and Chris Boyle. The project is to design "a House for Eileen Gray" to house the national museum of Ireland's Eileen Gray archives. I also assisted with the introductory symposium based in Dublin in October 2013 and wrote a review to be published later this year by the UCD Yearbook.
Jestico + Whiles, London, GB, Architectural Assistant
Worked closely under Associate Director Andrew Costa. Working across a wide variety and scale of projects incorporating healthcare, housing, interior design, hotels and restoration of listed buildings.
Urban Innovations, Belfast, GB, Architectural Assistant
Worked on the initial stages for a project in Portsmouth (England). The project was to re-purpose a vacant modernist office building into housing in a prime city centre location as part of a wider scheme.
University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin, IE, BArch, Architecture
Conducted my M.Arch thesis "InScapes and Fallow Landscapes" under the tutors Peter Cody and Chris Boyle. The project was for a City Archive based in Glasgow, Scotland.
My M.Arch Dissertation was supervised by Mark Price and was entitled "Belfast: How the economies of Retail and Infrastructure have shaped a city".
Taking a materialist view of Belfast one can dispel many of the myths of sectarian based segregation and instead expose a more spatial and less spoken of series of divisions in the city, which are informed more by economics than religion and culture.
University of Liechtenstein, Vaduz, LI, MArch, Architectural Design Theory
(Erasmus Exchange Semester) I worked in a studio concerned with the ideas of narrative and metaphor in Architecture. A town-research based project which resulted in the design of a bench and a design manifesto for the town taking the form of a graphic novel.
University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin, IE, BArch, Architecture
Foundation studies; establishing the principles and skills of Architecture. The school has a strong focus on the notion of Architecture as a Craft; particularly through the experiential qualities of space and tectonics.
