The University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS, US, MArch, M.Arch
My studies at the university of Kansas focused around green design and sustainability. I have experienced designing mixed use multifamily housing, single family dwellings, museum and work spaces and large campus design. I hope to pair my architecture experience with my previous degree in sociology from Westmont College. I see the combination of the two as a perfect mixture for understanding people and how they interact within spaces.
Westmont College, Santa Barbara, CA, US, Bachelors, Sociology
My degree in sociology focused on development work both at home and abroad. I spent time studying development work in Honduras which had a huge impact on my life and continues to be my passion. Due to my fluency in Spanish, I was able to establish a deep connection to the people and I really got to know what developmental strategies work and which ones don't. Beyond development, my sociological training helped me continue my ongoing studies of people and the social interactions between them. These interactions form the social fabric that ties us all together. This foundation continues to affect how I think about and design my architecture projects.
