998 Fifth Ave

Assistant Project Manager at esteemed Upper East Side co-op, 998 Fifth Ave.

Built in 1912 by McKim, Mead & White for developer James T. Lee (the grandfather of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis), 998 Fifth Avenue is considered “the first super-luxury apartment building in Manhattan." It is described by the New York's Landmarks Preservation Commission as “the city's finest Italian Renaissance-style apartment house."

Some of the most distinguished families in history have called 998 home, including the Astors, the Guggenheims and the Vanderbilts.

The 12-story limestone building boasts jewelry safes built into the walls of each apartment, original French windows with balustrades overlooking Fifth Avenue, 12-foot-high ceilings, multiple fireplaces, and exceptional Italian Renaissance-style architectural details.

“The walls are two feet thick–it’s like a fortress. You feel like you’re living in a European castle.”
