Sabir Richardson & Weisberg Engineering & Architecture is the prime consultant on this adaptive-reuse of a former athletic club into a courthouse and police headquarters municipal building.
SRW provided professional architecture and engineering services to renovate and expand an existing city-owned building to serve as a permanent home for the City of Hudson Police Department and City Courts. The design challenge was to enhance the existing facility, butler building with limited street presence, and provide all necessary special and technical requirements of these two important city functions on a fixed and limited project budget.
SRW met this challenge by engaging the client in the design process and understanding the specific cost challenges from the Construction Manager and City representative for the project. The result is a functional building expressive of the dual use of the facility with renewed visibility from the street.
