This temporary two-storey sales gallery showcases the broad spectrum of residential and commercial spaces available for lease and purchase at the SPARK-designed ‘Vanke New City Center’ mixed-use development. The gallery architecture builds on its location beside Nanjing South Railway Station by referencing criss-crossing railway tracks. Folded surfaces of perforated aluminium create a subtle Moiré effect that strongly contributes to the building’s visual impact, yet allows for material recycling after demolition. A large LED screen provides project-related information to passing train and road commuters. The building serves as a sophisticated billboard and an active contributor to the new urban quarter in which it sits.
