SCULPTURE MUSEUM

The studio is working on the development of what we are calling
"ghostly" architectural characteristics (through the design of a
museum). The interest is in studying the possibility of both material
effects as well as the more caricatured figural associations that the
term conjures. Among the things being explored are - the nuanced
"doubling" of the original, multiple readings of the same object,
ephemeral material effects, i.e. fleeting effects and blurred edges.
To me ghostly is misty.Mists are naturally ghostly. It often carries
with itself an eerie feeling, and always blurs the legibility of whatever
object it cloaks. In a mist, we can see things as blurred figures or
silhouettes – but never anything in their totality. Are they even there
at all? We could never know until we come forward to approach
the object itself. We thought of it as a quite strange phenomenon,
and we thought that it would be interesting to produce that effect
architecturally.
