Work Sample 1- Westmont College Adams Center for the Visual Arts

Cleverly related to the human scale by managing the difference in levels between the neighbors it produces a unique relation between landscape and built environment. Aware and sensitive to the surroundings, the building's profile steps away from the first plane in the west elevation and minimizes its building mass by locating two pavilions inside a green roof in the third floor. Adams Center for the Visual Arts is a narrow three level building which shelters studios, classrooms office areas and a gallery. Providing natural ventilation and lighting for offices, studios and classrooms and treating the circulation of users as mediator between inside and outside the building. The material palette serves the building to be both native and unique in its setting.
