Long Island City
Vita Sports (2017) is a 10,000 square-foot interior fit-out in Manhattan’s Garment District bringing together Row New York,(rowing) Play Rugby,(rugby) I Challenge Myself, (cycling) and Beat the Streets, (wrestling) four not-for-profits whose shared mission is to coach elite sports to city youth, along with rigorous academic support. A proactive client and shoestring budget inspired us to experiment and innovate with unexpected materials and assemblies, to weave narratives implying agility, balance, harmony, and effort, to evoke the energy and teamwork of the group’s mission.
