Hello,
I am a recent graduate of Southern Illinois University. I graduated with a BFA in Communication design with minors in Advertising and Art History. I am very experienced with Adobe Creative Suites, especially Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, and Flash. I have experience with HTML and CSS and I have just finished a new website for myself. I also have experience designing and creating applications for the iPad. Though I would consider myself a designer and not a developer, I am always researching new technologies and trying to understand what can be done,from a design stand point, with these new technologies. I feel that I am a quick learner and very detail oriented but I am always seeking to learn more. Design has always been a passion of mine, and I constantly surround myself with good design in hope of growing as a designer myself. I am a team player and I feel that I am able to communicate concepts ideas well. As my resume will show, I am new to the design world, but I am very hard working, organized and I would consider myself a self-starter.

Walgreens is a national drug-store chain that focuses on customer loyalty, brand awareness, and iconic recognition. Since customer loyalty is a driving force, customer service has always been a large responsibility for all positions. However, much has been learned from working retail: point of purchase advertising, functionality of product and packaging design, and brand loyalty. All positions came with specialized responsibilities: creating displays, detecting professional photography, explaining and teaching customers about copyright laws and photo resolution, training new employees, and leading group projects due to natural leadership skills.
Mind's Eye Graphic Group, Carbondale, IL, US, Design Intern
Mind’s Eye Graphic Group is an in house design group for Southern Illinois University’s School of Art & Design. While interning at Mind’s Eye, responsibilities included brochure, poster, and T-shirt design for the School of Art & Design’s events. I have gained hands on experience working with an Art Director and clients. I also learned time management while working with multiple projects and adhering to strict deadlines while working with the printer. All work was put into production and used at Southern Illinois University.
Saturday Young Artist Workshop, Carbondale, IL, US, Design Intern
The Saturday Young Artist Workshop is a program designed for Undergraduate students in the Art Education department. It allows students to gain hands-on experience teaching while children learn and create their own art. While Interning with SYAW, responsibilities included event posters and brochure design for both the workshop and the Art Education department. Gained experience working with clients and adhering to strict deadlines over multiple projects. I was also able to teach Adobe Creative Programs to the director and worked along side director for printing matters. All work was put into production and used at Southern Illinois University.
WIDB.net, Carbondale, IL, US, Promotions Director
WIDB is a student run radio station at Southern Illinois University. As the promotions director, leading a small staff was a major responsibility. Other responsibilities included orchestrating promotional events, designing promotional materials for the station and events, creating physical artistic displays, and working with in a strict budget. Knowledge of printing methods and cost efficiency was furthered along with communication and leadership skills.
