Constructed from foraged wood this design offers interior or exterior climbing practice while also providing aesthetic appeal that supplements the exercise regimen of wildlife under rehabilitation. These textured wood triangles are translated into geometric designs and can be arranged in multiple patterns, they firmly attach to any wall surface, and offer a decorative addition to any rehabilitation facility as well as providing functional play platforms.
The triangles are given texture with a circular saw and later charred by hand and finished with Tung Oil, a method that preserves the wood and makes it impermeable, and that has been traced to Aztec culture, and is referred to as Shou-Sugi-Ban or 焼杉板 (Yakasugi) by the Japanese.
