Seth Barnard grew up in Laguna Beach, CA and currently lives in Berkeley, CA. After living in New York CIty for 5 years, he received his B. Arch from The Cooper Union where he learned the value of an idea. He received his Masters of Architecture from the UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design, working with Professor Ron Rael.
Seth's research and work seeks to make architecture with ecological systems. Our ecological crisis demands alternative methods for construction and design. How can we design with animals, with plants? How can we reconfigure a human-centric profession to include other organisms? In a world where a computer-virus is more natural than a genetically-altered tomato, there is the potential for new-nature. Somewhere between the wild and domestic, Seth's work creates Feral Architectures for the 21st century. Seth is ready to pioneer radical proposals for future habitats.
