Three UMSoA Students Tapped For Who’s Who

Chosen for their academic achievement, service to the University of Miami, leadership and more, three UMSoA fifth-year students were chosen for the current edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. At a ceremony on Tuesday, April 5, in the Shalala Student Center ballroom, Nikita Chabra, Stefani Fachini and Christian Lemon were presented with a certificate by Dr. Patricia Whitely, Vice President of Student Affairs, and UMSoA Dean Rodolphe el-Khoury. Seventy-nine UM students from all of the undergraduate schools and colleges, as well as the School of Law and the graduate school, were honored with inclusion in Who’s Who.

Dr. Ricardo Hall, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, and Dr. Whitely made brief remarks before introducing Dr. Julio Frenk, President of UM. This was Dr. Frenk’s first Who’s Who ceremony and he took time to congratulate students and encourage them in future endeavors. Each academic unit was represented by an administrator who presented students with the awards.

UMSoA Who’s Who Winners
Nikita Chabra is majoring in architecture with a minor in historic preservation and art. Her honors and activities include the Dean's List, Provost's Honor Roll, Wall Walk Project Published in Domus Magazine, Student Council- President, University of Miami- US Green Building Council, UM Bhangra Team– Management Co-Chair and Dancer and UM Ballroom Dancing Team- Dancer.

Stefani Fachini is majoring in architecture and minoring in art. Her honors and activities include the President’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List, ULIHines competition national finalist, eVolo Funriture Competition- participant, Best in Class- Student’s Choice Design Award, Sukkah Design Competition- First Place in Design and Building, AIAPhotography Competition- Finalist.

Christian Lemon is majoring in architecture and minoring in finance and real estate. His honors and activities include the Dean’s List, ULI Hines Competition 2016 Campus competition-1ST Prize, American Institute of Architecture Student- President, Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity- Recruitment Chair and Design Chair, Order of Lamp- Recipient, School of Architecture Student Council-member, Intramural Golf Champion ’13 and ‘14.

“We know that we have excellent students – the best at UM! – and it was a pleasure to see three of our fifth-years singled out for such recognition. It was my privilege to be there when they were awarded this honor, and I look forward to honoring many other students the same way in years to come,” said Dean el-Khoury. “We are all very proud of them and know they will accomplish even greater things in the future.”
