The end of the semester is almost here! After months of hard work, students will be evaluated during the final reviews. Reviews involve students presenting their work to critics for about five minutes, and then that work being critiqued for about five to 10 minutes after the presentation. This panel of jurors is typically comprised of the studio instructor, other University of Miami architecture faculty and outside guests. Depending upon the focus of the individual studio, outside guests may be architects or other professionals.

In what has become a new UMSoA tradition, the core program (first three years of students) reviews will be held within the UMSoA campus, but the upper level and thesis student reviews will take place off campus, hosted by the Miami Design District at the Moore Building, located at 3841 NE 2nd Avenue. Final reviews are generously sponsored by Bill Rammos and Dacra. Reviews on campus began Saturday, April 16 and continue on Wednesday, April 20 and Friday, April 22.

Although the core level student reviews are on campus, the entire School is invited to the awards ceremony and reception that will take place at the Moore Building at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, after all of the final reviews are completed.

Jurors will select the best project in each studio, and the best projects of the year will be selected from those. One award will be presented to core level, upper level and thesis students.

Additionally, the Ferguson Shamamian Design Award will be presented to a graduating student with the best project among his or her class, selected from works that the students choose to submit.
