Kent State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design Fall 2023 Lecture Series

Kent State University's College of Architecture and Environmental Design announces their Fall 2023 Lecture Series presented in a new format this year. Events will follow a 40x40 format with a 40-minute presentation by the guest lecturer followed by interactive panel discussions with faculty and the audience for the remaining 40 minutes. The series launched with Kent State University CAED's own Interior Design Program Director, John Humphries's lecture "Machines or Fishing the Subconscious" followed by his exhibition by the same title. The month finished off with the Steidl Lecture presented by Ilmar Hurkxkens with his lecture "Robotic Landscapes".

October continues with Jerome Haferd's "(Architecture) At the Water's Edge" on October 10. His lecture is followed by Brittany Utting's "A Type of Care" on October 16. The month finishes up with the Perspectus Lecture, Nader Tehrani's "The Animate Analytique" on October 23.

November begins with a symposium featuring guests Nasrin Seraji, Nanako Umemoto, Heather Woofter and Jennifer Yoos. "Desires for Praxis: Between Practice and Education" happens November 6 - November 7. After the symposium, Jason Scroggin presents "Fabricating Play" followed by the opening of his exhibition by the same title. Lastly, Dana Cuff finishes off the series with her lecture "Architectures of Spatial Justice." All lectures take place at The John Elliot Center for Architecture and Environmental Design in the Cene Lecture Hall.
