The Enterprise Rose Architectural Fellowship, a highly competitive, three-year fellowship partnering emerging architectural leaders with community developers, was awarded to Master of Architecture graduate Samuel Carlsen. Carlsen will work with the Saint Paul Riverfront Corporation to provide design leadership for the Central Corridor Light Rail project and neighborhoods impacted by its construction. According to a press release announcing the award, Carlsen will "help the City of Saint Paul build transformative public spaces, as well as encourage developers to bring the values of equality and sustainability into their own projects and practices". The 35 Rose Fellows sponsored to date have used their design and organizational skills to help their host organizations create or preserve over 7,000 sustainable, affordable homes and 43 much-needed community facilities for low-income people in underserved communities.
